Brighton born and raised, Louis Mattrs is very much a product of his environment, his surroundings and those physical attributes that make up his hometown influencing the narrative he threads through his tracks.Louis first came to light in June 2013 with a mixtape surfacing on Youtube which caught the attention of Chase & Status. Together they collaborated on the top 10 single ‘Lost & Not Found’, selling more than 250,000 copies and propelling Louis into the living rooms of the masses and onto the stages of Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds. In-fact his first gig ever was Radio 1 Big Weekend, a slightly back to front approach for any new artist but one that has set his aspirations appropriately.

Following this Louis dropped ‘War With Heaven’ – the first offering from his debut ‘Beachy Head’ EP. ‘War With Heaven’ was premiered as Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’ on Radio 1 and was accompanied by a breathtaking video/short film which Louis collaborated on with multi-award winning photographer and video director Josh Cole (‘Best New Director’ 2013 Cannes Film Festival).

Since then he’s collaborated with Paul Epworth on his ‘God’s Help’ record, Catching Flies, Elli Ingram, featured on Piff Gang’s ‘Middle Finger’ single and sparked a wave of interest across the pond after Meek Mill used Louis’s ‘War With Heaven’ Track on his new album trailer video ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money’.

In the run up to Louis’ new ‘Slow Waves’ EP featuring hotly tipped US rapper Lucki Eck$, he dropped his self-produced cover mash-up of Tweet’s ‘Ooops’ Tweet and Party Next Door’s ‘Wus Good’ which Annie Mac & Mista Jam heavily support, leading to the track being named ‘1Xtra Record Of The Week’.

More recently, Louis’s collaboration with SG Lewis on ‘No Less’ won over an army of online fans before been play-listed on BBC 1Xtra. Get ready for his next offering with his stunning ‘Slow Waves’ EP before a slew of singles in the run up to his debut album set for release in 2016.
