Jane Dyball graduated in Law (LLB Hons) from Bristol University in 1984 and spent some time travelling before becoming determined to get a job in the music business. After sending out endless CVs she joined independent publisher, Virgin Music (Publishers) Ltd, in 1986 as International Co-ordinator, eventually becoming Administration Manager (International). She had responsibility for international copyrights, overseas synch licensing, organising conferences and producing printed music.
Following a stint at printed music company, International Music Publications, Jane joined Warner/Chappell Music Ltd as Legal & Business Affairs Manager in 1992, subsequently becoming Head of the Legal Department for the UK before taking on international responsibilities and moving to SVP International Legal & Business Affairs in 2005. She had responsibility for all Warner/Chappell Music’s business affairs throughout the world ex US & Canada, and was responsible for business strategic issues focussing on areas such as collective rights management and digital rights. Jane initiated and executed WCM’s Pan European Digital Licensing initiative and instigated the groundbreaking “one stop shop” which licensed publishing and master rights together for Radiohead’s phenomenal “In Rainbows” album.
While at WCM she sat on the Boards of the PRS, MCPS, IMPA, ICMP and MPA amongst other industry organisations. In June 2013 she left WCM and in January 2014 was appointed CEO of MCPS, IMPEL and PMLL. She is regularly invited to participate in industry think-tanks, sits on advisory panels and boards and regularly appears as a panellist at a variety of industry events throughout the world. In 2014 she was named on the Music Week roll of honour for Women in Music.
She lives in Suffolk, England with her partner and 2 children.
