Sarah Liversedge is Director of A&R at Bucks Music Group; She steers the creative team and directs efforts to attract, develop and sign new talent. Bucks Music is well known for its reputable catalogue dating back to the 50s to include, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, TRex, Procul Harum, Pete Seeger, Peggy Seeger and Brian Eno. More recently Bucks have enjoyed chart success with Ed Sheeran, Example, Rudimental, DJ Fresh, Leona Lewis, Professor Green, James Blunt, Jay Sean.…to name but a few. More recent signings include Stan Kybert [Paul Weller’s producer], Pete Doherty, Honeyblood, Findlay, Sam Duckworth [formerly Get Cape Wear Cape Fly], Alex Metric, Roni Size, Matthew Herbert, We Are The Ocean, iLL Blu [Island Records], One Bit Productions, Sway, The Heavytrackerz, Diskord, Erland Cooper and Samuel Ford.
Sarah studied music composition at Bath Spa University acquiring a First Class degree in Composition. Sarah’s professional career started in media, her first proper job was as a Floor Manager for BBC Television working across music and sport programming. She then side-stepped into a TV Researcher role for BBC and after a couple of years in this position was promoted to Programme Liaison Executive for BBCWW Music, the commercial arm of the BBC. In 2000, Sarah was appointed Deputy Head of Music Publishing at BBC WW Music, followed by Head of Music in 2003/4. In this role, Sarah played a major part in developing and expanding what became a multimillion pound business and one of the leading media music publishing companies in the World. She has been a member of the PRS Media Committee for the last 10 years and she sits on the Pop Publishers Committee, as part of the Music Publisher’s Association. Sarah was also Board Director for 10 years for Heart ‘n Soul, one of the UK’s leading charitable arts organisations for people with learning disabilities. She is also A&R advisor for the PRS Foundation.
Aside to her Bucks role, Sarah is co-founder and Managing Director of BDi Music, set up in 2004, Key A- List signings: producer/writer, Jake Gosling [Ed Sheeran / One Direction / James Bay] and songwriter, Amy Wadge [Ed Sheeran with their No.1 Worldwide Hit, ‘Thinking Out Loud’] – Sarah has developed both of their song writing careers for the last 9 years. BDi also has a sturdy and long standing media side to the business representing a broad range of Film and TV production companies and composers. Sarah is also co-founder and Director of a joint venture company with Jake Gosling called The Movement London Limited. Sarah’s extensive experience within the music and media industry has provided her with strong relations in Film, TV & Radio production and with producers, directors, agents, managers, publishers, labels, media composers and songwriters.
